Welcome to Kalikas Armour
Sartorial armour for moments that demand presence.
AN INDEPENDENT BRITISH ATELIER
BESPOKE COMMISSIONS · MADE-TO-MEASURE · LIMITED PIECES · SPECIAL PROJECTS · MADE IN ENGLAND
Kalikas Armour is an independent British atelier creating bespoke and made-to-measure private commissions, limited pieces and special projects in England.
Founded by designer and creative director Jatin Patel, the atelier draws on demi-couture disciplines including sculptural construction, corsetry, precision cutting and hand-finished detail to create clothing around the individual.
We work directly with private clients, artists, performers and cultural figures to create garments that hold confidence, identity and presence. Each commission begins in conversation and develops through silhouette, fabric, fittings, construction and final styling. A personal atelier process shaped around the individual, the occasion and the feeling the garment needs to embody and carry.
We design across silhouette rather than gender, creating for individuals who understand that clothing is not decoration. It is declaration.
Our sartorial armour spans commanding eveningwear, tailored statement suits, bridal and ceremonial ensembles, red-carpet dressing, editorial pieces and future-facing showpieces. Each garment is precision-cut, hand-worked and constructed in-house, balancing structure with fluidity, strength with refinement.
The house has presented work at Cultural Style Week, F3Fest in the USA, and at The Animal Ball in collaboration with Elephant Family and the British Asian Trust.
At Kalikas Armour, power is engineered through form. Transformation is crafted through detail.
Our practice is grounded in slow fashion. Each private commission is made in-house in England, with a focus on responsible material choices, longevity, craftsmanship and future adaptation where appropriate. Materials are selected with intention, including peace silks, Piñatex, cactus leather, responsibly sourced cloth and reclaimed textiles and garments are designed to endure beyond a single event.
Commissions are scheduled well in advance.
We work privately, discreetly and deliberately.

About Kalikas Armour
The name Kalikas Armour draws from Kalika, a universal archetype of renewal, strength and rebirth. Across cultures, she represents the balance between darkness and illumination, vulnerability and power. Here, that symbolism becomes sartorial: garments that protect, reveal and endure.
Armour, in this context, is a metaphor for personal transformation: clothing that protects, empowers and reveals the strength of the individual wearing it.
Silhouettes are architectural yet fluid. Structured yet luminous. Inner engineering and corsetry provide authority; surface detail and embellishment bring refinement. Each garment is shaped to balance strength with softness, form with emotion.
From our atelier in Medway’s historic INTRA district, the house is grounded in heritage knowledge and renewal: a landscape shaped by dockyard history and craftsmanship, now reimagined through forward-thinking design.
This is demi-couture with conscience. Craftsmanship with purpose.

Atelier Experience
Every commission begins in conversation. The atelier is based in Kent, a working studio where design, draping and construction unfold in view. Clients are welcomed into a private fitting space surrounded by archival silhouettes and experimental textiles.
Each commission is a deliberate collaboration: an exchange of vision, craft and confidence.

Our Process
Ideas move into silhouette through draping, precision cutting and internal structuring. The architectural foundation is established long before embellishment is applied. Multiple fittings refine proportion and balance, with inner corsetry and engineered foundations ensuring strength is felt as much as seen.
Every garment is constructed entirely in-house, proudly Made in England.
